Nissan Warranty and local mechanic repairs?
Can I take my 2008 Nissan Altima with a certified pre-owned limited warranty to my local mechanic for repairs? As opposed to taking it to my local Nissan dealership. The repairs would be ones that are covered under my warranty, so I would want the warranty company to pay for repairs.
If it is a warranty that is from Nissan, you have to take the car back to the dealer for warranty repairs.
If the warranty is from an aftermarket company, they may be willing to allow your local shop to do the repairs. Call them and ask, as each company has their own rules. Your shop would have to be willing to deal with the warranty company, which means that they will have to wait for payment for up to 60 days. Many shops will not do this, and will require you to pay them and then be repaid by any warranty company.
