07 Caddy DTS Codes… How do I get access?
I just traded my 01 Deville for an 07 DTS. I could pull the trouble codes on the 01 by pressing certain button combinations on Driver’s Info Center. How do I perform this operation on the 07 DTS? No trouble indicated…just want to check history.
you could “pull” the codes out of your older caddy using the climate control buttons. This has gone away after the 2005 model year. Your older deville used a communication system called GM “class 2″. The DTS now uses a different set-up called gmlan. There are different busses of commincation lines on the vehicle that are talking at different speeds (high speed, low speed etc) At our dealership we have to hookup a module in line with our scan tool that sorts out the different rates of speed so that the scan tool can communicate with the vehicle. I would guess that it just became impractical to keep the user “code reader” as part of the vehicles electronics
