Opinions on buying a Mercedes R350?
I’m thinking about buying a used 2008 Mercedes R350 AMG with only 11,000 miles on it. It has panorama sun roof, parktronic, rear dvd, navigation, etc. This is something that I can afford but, I have read some reviews of the R350 (Not specifically the 2008 Model) and found that many people were having some electrical problems. I really like the looks and appearance of this Mercedes and this fits my family good with all the options that are equipped with it. I want some personal experiences or problems with this Mercedes. What other cars are similar to this Mercedes? THANKS!!!
I think that you are wasting your money on a badge.
Firstly, an E350 wagon will fit more into it and because uses precisely the same engine in a far lighter car, can out turn, out accelerate and out brake an R Class.
Second, the ground clearance in an R Class in generally no better than an ML, which means that it’s not even a very good soft roader. If you want to go off road, get a Land Rover or Range Rover.
Thirdly, they look shite. Basically only pratts and wankers drive luxo-SUVs for the simple reason that anyone who wants a proper sports car, buys a proper sports car; anyone who wants a proper 4WD buys a proper 4WD. The R Class generally screams “rich soccer mom”, and unless you are a soccer mom then it is impossible to look cool in one.
The only person in the world I would suggest buying an R Class to is my boss, because I hate him.
