I need to fit One car seat and two booster seats?
I want something that can fit me (driver) my girlfriend, Her son (infant) and my two kids that are in booster seats. I would like something that has ‘good gas mileage’ and trying to avoid vans but I’ll do what it takes.
You shouldn’t need to buy a van to get three-across in the back seat. You can do it in a sedan if you use narrow car seats that “puzzle” together well. You will want to keep the infant rear-facing until at least age two (this is the new recommendation by the AAP because it is MUCH safer), so if he is in an infant carrier-type seat with a handle, you will want to buy a narrow convertible seat to use rear-facing when he outgrows the infant seat. Your two kids will have more shoulder room with him rear-facing as well. A good place for info is the car seat forum at www.car-seat.org. There is even a thread called “Successful three-across thread” where people have posted what car seat/booster configurations have fit in their car.
