Britax Roundabout Infant Car Seats
The first purchase of an infant & toddler seat for the car can be a challenging experience. Many of the styles and designs available all seem comparable. The American Academy of Pediatrics, which is a well known Institute, recommended after a study that toddlers be kept in rear facing car seats until the maximum weight recommended by the manufacturer was reached. Britax made their seat to accommodate infants from five pounds to toddlers all the way up to thirty five pounds in the rear facing position.
The seat has a recline feature which makes it very comfortable when taking a long drive. A baby that is sitting will not have to bend their heads over to sleep comfortably in the seat. In addition the foam cushions absorb a lot of the energy from bumps that occur on the road.

The belts placed at the top of the seat allow the child to be restrained in the center of the seat. This will prevent them from being knocked from side to side in the event of a crash. As well, the energy absorbing foam liner that surrounds the high density foam cushions adds extra protection the infant. Plus, added to this protection all around them is a belly pad which holds the latch mechanism for the belts and also adds a protective layer for the baby in the case of an accident.
