Southern Car
Quick question about Northern and Southern car batteries?
I just bought a 2007 Monte Carlo and it came from Louisiana. I live in Wisconsin so i was wondering if i need to buy a new battery for it since it gets really cold here. Any info would be greatly appreciated.
You don’t have to buy a new battery. If you buy a battery in the south it is the same a battery sold in the north. You can get batteries that resist cold weather better than regular batteries, but in general all batteries are the same. If you really want a good battery go with an Optima. I also live in Wisconsin and my truck has the factory battery still and I have had no problems starting it in the freezing cold with it sitting outside and not in a garage.
